Roman Kovalik is a well rounded, classically trained musician and an award winning composer who spcializes in writing and producing music for film and television. His dramatic sensibility as well as his strong knowledge in digital music production and mixing guarantees his clients a product of highest standard. He works out of his studio in Silverlake, Los Angeles.

In his career as a composer and music producer, Roman has worked on multiple successful movies such as the feature films "Rendition", "Traitor", and "Feast II". He composed and produced the score for the Sci-Fi motion picture "Teleios", for which he won "Best Original Score 2016" from the International Independent Film Awards. He also composed the music for "W.M.D." which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, and scored Aaron Mento's critically acclaimed film "Standards of Living", the first movie ever shot on an iPad 2. Roman's latest musical contribution was for the feature thriller "Blue Jay" and the documentary "Passage Of Time" which became the Official Selection of several film festivals and won an "Award of Merit" at the "San Luis Obispo Film Festival".

Besides his work in film, Roman has been scoring various weekly TV shows for TruTV as a staff writer for Clemistry Music, Inc. for three years. He also wrote and produced the CD "Hard Rock Vol I" for the renowned music library "5 Alarm" and contributed to the fifth and sixth release of "Future Heroes" with a few trailer tracks ("Avangers: Age of Ultron", "Fantastic Four", "Jupiter Ascending"). Roman's music can be heard on a multitude of TV channels such as ABC, Discovery Channel, E!, Fox Sports, National Discovery Channel, SyFY, and on numerous international TV stations.


Born in Switzerland to Czech parents, Roman has been living and working in Los Angeles since 2006. During his first three years in LA, Roman worked as an assistant to established composers such as Mark Kilian ("Rendition", "Pitch Perfect"), Stephen Edwards ("Children of the Corn", "The Mechanic") and Christopher Young ("Spiderman 3", "Hellraiser").

Roman Kovalik is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, holding a Bachelor Degree in Film Scoring (Summa cum Laude). He has earned a "Certificate of Excellence in Composition" for his Piano Nocturne "Bella Luna."

Before coming to the US, Roman had gained experience in music composition working for annual theater productions in Europe. This had made him a sought-after writer/ arranger within the Swiss music scene and lead to a cooperation with Remo Broggi, the mastermind behind the legendary band "Messiah". Roman became an integral part of the Avantgarde Metal Opera "Shining Bright Mourningside", composing and conducting the choir overture "Prelude In E-minor" and orchestrating the album.
